Questions

Frequently Asked

Is my image uploaded to any server?
No. The AI model runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your image never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
Why does the first use take longer?
The AI model (~50MB) is downloaded once from a CDN and cached in your browser. All subsequent uses are instant — no re-download needed.
What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF and most other common image formats. The output is always a transparent PNG — the best format for cutout images.
How good is the AI?
We use the ISNET-general-use model via the @imgly/background-removal library — the same technology behind many paid tools. It handles hair, fur, complex edges and fine details very well.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit — but very large images (above 20MP) may be slow on lower-end devices since all processing happens on your CPU/GPU via WebAssembly.
